Demo account, fictional results.

The Barrister licensing examination is the litigator’s paper. It examines Civil Litigation, Criminal Law, Family Law, and Public Law, with Professional Responsibility threaded through all of them, and it tests those subjects the way a barrister meets them: a client at a particular stage of a matter, and a decision to make before the next step.

This full-length practice exam follows the published format of the Barrister examination: 160 multiple-choice questions, organised into topic sections and developed to entry-level competency standards, with a 4.5-hour timer running throughout.

Barrister Mock Exam D is built as a dress rehearsal. Sit it close to exam day, at the hour you will actually write, without stopping. By then the score matters less than whether your pacing and accuracy hold across the full 4.5 hours.

The four papers are equivalent in format and difficulty. The order above is a suggestion, not a rule, and any one of them stands on its own.

What’s included

  • A complete 160-question mock exam, unique to this product. These are questions you will not see in any of our other exams.
  • Two attempts, with the questions freshly ordered each time, so a second sitting is not a memory test of the first
  • Realistic exam experience: timed sections, question flagging, and answer navigation on our secure online platform
  • Instant scoring the moment you submit
  • Review of every question you got wrong, with explanations that teach the underlying rule rather than just the right letter

Nobody runs a marathon without training for it

This is a 160-question paper sat over four and a half hours, and for most candidates exam day is the first time they have ever worked at that length without stopping. Focus over that distance is not a personality trait. It is a trained capacity, built by doing the thing at full length, under the clock, more than once. Reading builds knowledge. Only sitting the paper builds endurance.

Reporting no other prep tool gives you

A licensing result gives you a pass or a fail and almost nothing about why. Our reporting engine was built to answer the questions that actually matter while there is still time to act.

  • What to work on first. Every report opens with a ranked study list, not a score breakdown. Findings are ordered by the marks actually at stake on your paper and how strongly the evidence supports them, so the top of the list is the cheapest place to buy marks, not just your lowest percentage.
  • Two dimensions, and the cross-section between them. Your answers charted by lawyering competency (Knowledge of the Law, Ethical and Professional Responsibilities, and more) and separately by area of law, plus the cross-section between them. Not just “Civil Litigation is weak” but “your Civil Litigation losses cluster in problem and issue identification”. That narrows a subject to a skill.
  • The marks you can’t find on your own. The questions you answered quickly, did not flag, and got wrong. You cannot find these by reviewing, because you were sure. They are also the fastest marks to recover: you do not need new material, you need to correct an idea you already hold.
  • Four more things the report does, on How it works ›

It gets sharper with every exam you write

A weakness on one paper might be a bad morning. The same weakness on a second, separately written paper is real, and after two papers we tell you which of yours is which. Sit the same paper twice and the report tells you whether the fix held, which questions you missed both times (they are tagged for you in the review), and whether your stamina is improving.

The four mocks for each exam are built to the same mix of subjects and difficulty, so your scores on them can be compared, and the report shows how your score moved from one to the next. A few points either way can still come from the questions, so it looks hardest at where your marks go, which is the part that transfers.

About explanations: explanations unlock at 55%. That is our own threshold, not a passing standard, because the Law Society does not publish one. It exists so the exams cannot be farmed for an answer key by submitting blank attempts. Below it you still see every question you missed and the area of law and competency each one tested; sit it again after studying and the explanations open up.
