Privacy Policy

Effective 31 July 2026

Lex Professional Development Group Inc. respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to all of our services and websites, including NCA Tutor, LexPD and OntarioBarExam.com. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who we are

Lex Professional Development Group Inc. is an Ontario corporation operating as NCA Tutor, LexPD and OntarioBarExam.com, with its business address at 14-296 Torresdale Avenue, North York, Ontario M2R 3N3, Canada. We provide tutoring, preparation courses, study materials and online practice examinations. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@ontariobarexam.com.

What we collect

We collect only what our services actually need:

  • Contact and account information — your name and email address, and any details you give us when enquiring about tutoring or courses. For the practice exam platform, sign-in uses Google or a one-time email link: we never receive or store a password.
  • Purchase information — the order number, the email used at checkout, and which products or services you bought. We never see or store your payment card details; payments are handled by our store provider.
  • Practice exam activity — your answers, scores, timing, pauses, flagged questions and reports, so we can grade your attempt and show your progress over time.
  • Technical and security information — your IP address, browser type and sign-in times. We use these to keep accounts secure and to detect account sharing, which our terms prohibit.
  • Correspondence — messages you send us, including any accommodation request.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not sell personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Why we use it

To provide the services and materials you purchased; to schedule and deliver tutoring and courses; to run and score your practice exams; to produce your performance reports; to compare your results against anonymous, aggregated averages of other candidates; to send you service emails (access instructions, reminders, results); to provide support; to protect our question bank and study materials from unauthorised sharing; and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

About peer averages: practice exam reports show how your results compare with an average of other candidates. These comparisons are aggregated and anonymous — no report ever identifies another student, and we deliberately withhold comparisons until enough candidates have written an exam for the average to be meaningful and non-identifying.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed:

  • Supabase — database and sign-in for the practice exam platform. This data is stored on servers located in Canada.
  • Vercel — hosts the OntarioBarExam.com website and platform.
  • Wix — hosts our lexpd.ca website and operates our online store and payment processing.
  • Google — Workspace email, and sign-in if you choose it.
  • Brevo — sends our service emails.

Some of these providers operate outside Canada, which means your information may be processed in another country and could be accessible to that country’s courts or authorities under its laws. We otherwise disclose personal information only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, purchases, attempts and reports while your account is open, so that you can revisit your results, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records and legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your account at any time (see below). Anonymised, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be retained so that peer averages remain accurate.

How we protect it

Access is protected by sign-in, data is encrypted in transit, and our database enforces row-level rules so students can only reach their own records. Exam content and answers are subject to additional access restrictions. No system is perfect, but we take security seriously and limit staff access to what support genuinely requires.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may ask us to: provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you; correct anything inaccurate; delete your account and personal information; or withdraw your consent to non-essential communications. Email info@ontariobarexam.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Some emails are essential to the service (for example, your access instructions after purchase) and cannot be turned off while your account is active. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep our services secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Children

Our services are intended for candidates preparing for professional licensing examinations and are not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
